Product Review: Dove intensive repair leave-in conditioning and care spray

Hello lovely people,

First of all I would like to say sorry for the lack of blog posts this week. I have just started my summer job and yea, it has been a very busy week. I have worked out a schedule now though, so I should be able to get blog posts up in the week again.

Onto what my post is really about and this is the leave-in conditioner from dove (as you can see in the title of this blog.)

I have loved this spray, really, I have nothing bad to say about this product. I often suffer with dry hair during the summer and my hair always tends to look a bit limp because it is so fine. This product however is amazing. It has really brought my hair back to life and keeps it soft the whole day.

It also smells amazing, it reminds me a bit of like a sweet I used to have but I can't put my finger on it, (if you know what I mean by the smell then please let me know.) Another aspect of this I love is the fact that you can spray it on both wet hair and dry hair, which works wonders for me because I don't wash my hair everyday and I can still use it with my dry shampoo on the days when I don't wash my hair. Following on from this point, I also love the actual spray. I have always found that with a lot of sprays, you spray it on your hair and it leaves your hair feeling wet and full of product, however I would describe this spray as more of a mist. It doesn't leave your hair feeling really wet and it doesn't feel like your hair has got loads of product in it.

I would definitely recommend this product for people who suffer from dry hair or with fine hair and you can pick it up from your nearest Boots store (it is also on special in boots at the moment so I would definitely go and have a look at it.)

I am also really looking forward to trying the rest of the products in this range.

I hope you have found this helpful and let me know if you have tried this product or the rest of the range and let you know what you think of it.

My top 10 summer products!

Hey guys, so here are my top 10 beauty/skin products that i recommend for summer.
1) Moisturiser: I am normally a massive fan of Nivea but I love this moisturiser in the summer, it  is the Neutrogena visibly clear moisturiser. The reason I love this is mostly because of the  smell (pink grapefruit) and it also leaves your skin feeling super soft and refreshed. It is also oil free which is a bonus in the summer because the last thing you want is an oily face.

2) Suncream: Well obviously this is a given in the summer, but when it comes to suncream for my face I am really picky. So I have chosen Garnier Ambre Solaire High. This is great for people that don't like the smell of suncream as it doesn't have the smell typically found in them. This is also non-greasy and non-sticky which is great for applying to your face. I have it in factor 50, even though I don't burn, I have a lot of moles so I use it for that and I also use it to protect my skin on my face.

3) Self Tanner: Now if you are the type of person who likes to fake it more then this is perfect. It is the Dove summer glow in fair to medium (to be honest this is too light for my skin now and so I use it more as a moisturiser). This product is great for giving you an overall glow and doesn't leave streaks or patches of orange all over you body. I recommend using this every other day with just moisturiser in between.

4) Waterproof Mascara: Well lets face it, in the sun we are going to get sweaty and the last thing we want is mascara have way down our face so this product is great. I love the falsies mascara from maybelline, so simply got the waterproof version. It does basically exactly the same as the normal one but is waterproof. It is definitely a win win for me.

5) Hair conditioner: In the summer my hair can get quite dry so I use Dove intensive repair leave-in conditioner to give my hair a bit of a boost. This stuff also smells great and you can use it on both wet and dry hair.

6) Feet: With all this sandal wearing I need my feet in tip top condition so I use the soap and glory heel genius foot cream. You simply put it on at night and in the morning you have super soft feet, ready for those flip flops and sandals.

7) Cleanser: I love using the No7 Beautiful skin cleansing water to give my skin some energy in the morning. I love this stuff, as it makes your skin feel refreshed and clean. Often I will just use this stuff with my moisturiser if I'm having a non makeup day and  my face won't get greasy or anything during the day.

8) BB cream: We have probably all had the problem of keeping makeup on our face during a really hot day but that is where i love BB creams. I have been using the Maybelline dream pure BB cream for oily skin and it has been a life saver. I can put this on in the morning and can guarantee that my makeup will not have moved in the evening. It also has SPF 15 which is great as well. I would definitely recommend this product if you have oily skin.

9) Bronzer: I am a sucker for a good bronzed look in the summer and I have been loving the NYC Big Bold bronzer in shade 602 (Metropoli tan). This is a great bronzer, as it is not too have and you can either you it to contour your face or just as an overall bronze to your face and it is really cheap as well.

10) Finally nails: I love bright colours in the summer and I have recently fallen in love with this coral colour from essie. Cute as a button is the perfect colour for summer. It really enhances your tan and gives a really summery feel to your look. Love, love, love this product.

So that's it, my top 10 beauty/skin products for the summer. I hope you have enjoyed this and let me know what your summer favourites are!

Lots of things to try....

Hi everyone, so I have a few products that I have purchased recently that I will be trying over the next few weeks and I thought I would give you guys a heads up and also my first thoughts on the products before I try them.

As the weather has been so sunny i wanted to get some products for my hair that would condition it and protect it from the heat. So the first product I picked up was Dove intense repair leave-in conditioning and care spray. The first thing I noticed about this product was the smell, it smells incredible! I can't put my finger on what it smells like other than it is very sweet and I love it. The second thing I love it that you can use it on both wet and dry hair and they recommend you use it between washes to give your hair extra softness and nourishment. So I am really looking forward to trying this product.

The second thing is another hair product but it is the Pantene Pro-V Overnight Nourishing Spray for fine hair. The fact that it is for fine hair really appealed to me as my hair is fine and especially looks it in the summer. So basically with this product you put it on areas of your hair that need nourishment before you go to bed and then leave it in. The packaging says that it helps against styling damage and leaves your hair feeling revitalized, shiny and easy to style. The smell isn't as great as the Dove product but I'm looking forward to trying it all the same.

The third and final product I will be trying out I got in this months Glamour magazine which i purchased myself. It is the Balance Me pure skin face wash for normal to combination skin. Now I had never really heard of this brand before but it is a British based company and is 98.8% natural ingredients. As I had never heard of the brand I decided to look up some reviews and I must say they were all very good. They say the product has really helped all types of skin, even people who suffer from severe acne or eczema. So I'm really excited about trying this product, it is only 50ml but everyone says a little bit goes a long way. The only downside for me is that I hate the smell, it smells very organic and a tiny bit like tea tree oil but whether it will smell different on the skin is something I will have to see.

I hope you have enjoyed this, I will be putting reviews up for each of the products in a couple of weeks time.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? Let me know what you think.

Hope you all have a great day!

The other side of me!

Hey guys, so today's blog is a bit different to the ones I have been posting recently. As you can see on my blog I am a trainee teacher and will start my 3rd and final year of teacher training in September. I am really excited but also a bit nervous at the thought that this time next year I will be getting ready to teach my own class in September. I am the type of person who loves to know what is coming up and love being prepared and obviously I know that you can't be fully prepared for what to expect but I thought that I would try to get a few tips.

So to help me start to get prepared and to think about things over the next year I brought this book, which has been highly recommended. The book is called 'How to survive your first year in teaching' by Sue Cowley who is very well known in the teaching world.
This book is great! It is split into four parts and covers everything from how to approach your first lesson, to behaviour management skills, planning and the induction process etc. I found the book really easy and the chapters had specific themes running through them so it was easy to digest.

Obviously because I haven't yet done my NQT year I can't say whether the tips in the books work or the advice is good, but I would say that this is a great book to get you started and prepared for what lies ahead of you, because let's face it we all know that this is not going to be easy.

I hope you guys have found this interesting and I would definitely recommend this book if you are planning to start your NQT year soon. You can get it from amazon and Waterstones.

Let me know what you guys think. Are any of you in the same situation as me with your teaching career? Or are you already a teacher and have got a few tips for first year teaching? I would love to here from you

Product review: No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water

So I must admit the only reason I decided to try this was because I had a £5 off voucher. I have always been and always will be a fan of Nivea products however I decided to try the cleansing water from the No7 range beautiful skin. As it is summer now I decided to go for the Normal/oily skin bottle because even though I don't tend to have oily skin in general, in the summer my skin can get a bit oily. This really stood out for me because it claims it is '1 simple step to perfectly clean, refreshed, shine free skin'. It is also hypo-allergenic which appealed to me.

The first thing I must say about this product is that I love the pump. Most cleansing waters I have seen and tried you often have to pour onto a cotton pad which in my experience tends to end with stuff all over the floor as well as the cotton pad. So this pump was perfect because you only put as much as you want on.

I love using this cleansing water in the morning, especially with the British weather. It makes my skin feel so refreshed and I absolutely love the smell, really summery and refreshing. In terms of using it at night, I use makeup wipes to take off all my makeup and then go over the top with this cleansing water just to take off the remnants of the makeup. I think this works really well, I wouldn't use it to take off all my makeup just because I would end up using countless numbers of cotton pads as it doesn't take off that much in one go. So I just use this to make sure all my makeup is gone, this also means my face feels refreshed before going to bed which I love.

The remnants of my makeup.
I am glad I tried this product however i'm not sure I would re-purchase it but I would love to try some more products in the beautiful skin range. For £9 it is quite reasonable however there are always vouchers around where you can get money off.

Have you tried any of the beautiful skin range? What do you think?

Hope you all have had a great day

June Favourites

Hey guys!
I can't believe that June is over! We are half way through the year and it seems to be going so quick. I thought I would share with you just a few of the things that I have been loving throughout the month of June. Not all the products have been brought in June but I have used them the most during this month. So here goes...
Don't mind the cat in the background!

In terms of makeup, the first thing I have been loving is Rimmel lipstick in pink blush (shade 006). I love this colour a lot, it is nearly the same colour pink as my NYC lipstick which is my favourite but I love the matte finish this lipstick gives. It is also the perfect colour for summer.

I have been loving the MUA heaven and earth eyeshadow pallet. I know how everyone raves about this pallet and there isn't much more I can say about it that hasn't already said. I used natural colours on my eyes every day so this was a perfect buy for my and for £4 it is a must have for whether you are just starting out  trying makeup or just want another pallet to add to your collection.

I have also been loving two blushes this month which are the Sleek blush in flushed (shade 935) and the body shop blush in shade 01. Now these two colours are quite contrasting but I have been using the body shop blush in the day as it gives a lovely rosey look to your cheeks. Then I have been using the sleek blush for more of an evening look. I love sleek blushes, they are so pigmented and give such a lovely colour and even though the colour may look quite harsh here it blends out really well.

To go with these blushes I have been loving NYC biig bold bronzer in shade MetropoliTan (602). As it has been sunny anyway my face colour as changed so I tend to use this bronzer for a overall golden glow to my face and I think it really works well.

The body shop lip butter in mango has also been a favourite of mine this month. I love their lip butters and although this is not a new flavour this is by far my favourite and is definitely a staple product in my handbag during the summer.

My nail colours for this month have definitely been a toss up between these two colours. The BarryM mint green has been a favourite summer colour of mine for a long time and it comes out every year and then the BeautyUK blue nail varnish is also a favourite. I'm not quite sure where you can buy these as they were a present from a friend for my birthday but if you can get your hands on them they have a lovely set of pastel colours which are great for summer.

In terms of skin care the product I have used the most is the dove summer glow in shade fair to medium. This is a self tanner which gives a gradual glow to your skin. I absolutely love this product and apply it every two days with a day of just moisturiser in between. It isn't streaky and doesn't leave horrible orange patches on your skin and it doesn't transfer onto clothes or bedding. The only think I'm not too keen on is the smell it leaves.

I have also recently purchased the N07 Beautiful skin Cleansing water for normal/oily skin. I'm going to do a review about this product for my next blog so I won't go into too much detail but basically it does what it says on the bottle. It takes off every inch of makeup on your skin and leaves it refreshed which is why it is on my favourites list but I thought I just had to mention it in my June favourites.

Lastly is my fragrance of the month which is Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honeysuckle perfume. I love this perfume and it has a perfect scent for summer. As I've gotten older I had tried to steer away from the really sweet smelling perfumes however as it is now summer I wanted something that was sweeter then my normal perfume but still seemed mature as well. This definitely ticks both boxes.

So that's it guys, I've just realised that this blog is really long so I apologise. So I hope you have enjoyed this and please like, comment and subscribe to my blog and let me know what you think.

What are your June favourites?

Have a great week
